Why I’m Running

I am running for Senate to provide permanent housing solutions, stop the bombs, increase the wages, provide healthcare that heals (not bankrupts), and carve out a new way for Delaware – where the social fabric of our communities can be strengthened by the care and support we have in each other. There needs to be accountability for how our representation in D.C. slowwalked us to a timeline where the needs of outside interests, party politics, and the wealthy came before us. Everyday people are looking to plan their lives, receive a living wage, support their loved ones, and lead a life where they can spend more time with those who enrich their lives.

Growing up and having the love and trust of my family, I was able to build relationships with people I once called friends and eventually family. Within this community are people I have mentored and been mentored by; we cherish the hope and trust we share, especially in times of struggle.

I’ve seen what’s possible when we act with integrity and compassion and show up for each other. Whether in protest lines or food lines, we remind ourselves that we are not powerless. Across Delaware, teachers, workers, parents, and students are doing their best to build a life, but they’re being crushed: by wages that cannot keep up with the cost of living, housing they cannot afford, and leaders who have stopped listening.

I am running for U.S. Senate to make Delaware a place where everyone can thrive, where your needs matter, and where you can chart a life with dignity. I am asking Delawareans to join me in demanding a government that values people over profit, truth over convenience, and peace over war. Together, we can implement change and create a life we deserve.
